Private Bangalore business schools print full-course tuition between roughly ₹10 lakh (MS Ramaiah Institute of Management) and ₹16 lakh (Alliance School of Business), while university-run MBAs such as CMR charge ₹1.75 lakh a semester. IIM Bangalore charges ₹26 lakh. Every figure here comes from a college’s own fee page, read on 14 October 2026.
The cheapest and the costliest two-year management seats on the fee pages I read in Bangalore are about ₹22 lakh apart: a government-quota seat at RV Institute of Management at roughly ₹3.9 lakh, and the IIM Bangalore PGP at ₹26 lakh. Everything between them depends on what a quoted number includes. This guide sets out printed fees college by college, then instalments, hostel, quota seats and return on fees, and it marks every figure I could not take from a college’s own page.
MBA colleges in Bangalore with fees: what ten colleges print
Ten fee pages and fee circulars gave a usable number. The table lists each exactly as printed, with the batch the page names, because a 2026-28 figure and a 2027-29 figure are not the same product. Where a page gives per-semester or per-year numbers only, I added them up and said so.
| College and programme | Batch named on the page | Tuition as printed | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| IIM Bangalore, PGP | 2026-28 | ₹26,00,000, excluding taxes | IIMB fee page, read 13 Oct 2026 |
| Alliance School of Business, MBA | July 2027-29 | ₹16,00,000 total payable | Alliance fee PDF, read 14 Oct 2026 |
| XIME Bangalore, PGDM and PGDM-BA | 2027-29 | ₹13,90,000 (₹7,20,000 in year 1, ₹6,70,000 in year 2) | xime.org fee section, read 14 Oct 2026 |
| RV Institute of Management, MBA (management quota) | 2026-28 | ₹6,25,000 in year 1 (Karnataka) plus ₹6,04,000 in year 2, so ₹12,29,000 (my sum) | RVIM fee circular dated 27 Dec 2025 |
| ISBR Business School, PGDM Core | July 2026 | ₹11,00,000 | ISBR fee PDF, read 14 Oct 2026 |
| IIBS, MBA/PGDM Prime | 2027-29 (inferred from instalment dates) | ₹11,00,000, tuition only; NextGen track ₹14,00,000 | iibsonline.com fee page, read 14 Oct 2026 |
| MS Ramaiah Institute of Management, PGDM | 2026-28 | ₹10,00,000 | msrim.in admission page, read 14 Oct 2026 |
| CMR University, MBA | 2026-27 | ₹1,75,000 per semester at the OMBR and HRBR campuses, ₹1,50,000 at Lakeside; four semesters come to ₹7,00,000 and ₹6,00,000 (my sum) | cmr.edu.in programme page, modified 8 Sep 2026 |
| Dayananda Sagar University, MBA | 2026-27 | ₹3,07,000 plus ₹2,95,000 = ₹6,02,000; the page does not say whether that covers one year or two | dsu.edu.in eligibility page, read 14 Oct 2026 |
| PES University, MBA | Heading says 2027-28 | ₹7,60,000 per year; the two-year total is not printed | pes.edu fee page, read 14 Oct 2026 |
Two things in that table deserve a second look. XIME’s own page prints ₹13,90,000 in the fee section and a different, lower total in its FAQ, so confirm the figure with the college before relying on it. And IIBS lists a tuition-only number: its page adds ₹45,000 of one-time charges and a ₹25,000 caution deposit, half of it refundable, on top.
A PGDM is not a cheaper MBA. The four PGDM programmes in the table print ₹10 to ₹14 lakh, which falls between the university MBAs at CMR (about ₹6 to ₹7 lakh) and Alliance (₹16 lakh), so fees follow the institution rather than the label. If the distinction is new to you, how a PGDM differs from an MBA explains the degree-versus-diploma point and why it matters for recognition.
3 reasons the same college shows different fees
1. Tuition and total cost are different numbers. Alliance’s ₹16 lakh includes small processing and course charges inside it. IIBS and IIMB print tuition only. Hostel, mess, deposits and taxes are separate lines almost everywhere, which is why one aggregator can say ₹21 lakh and another ₹27 lakh for the same school.
2. The batch year moves the figure. Fees rise most years. A 2025-27 number copied into a 2027-29 article is wrong by lakhs at some institutes, and several aggregator pages I read were a cycle old.
3. The seat type changes the bill. RV Institute of Management prints separate fees for government-quota and management-quota seats, and the gap is about threefold. NRI and foreign-student columns add a third and fourth price.
Instalments and hostel: the costs around the tuition
What does an MBA fee include in Bangalore? At every college in the table, the printed figure covers tuition and registration or admission charges. It does not cover hostel, mess, travel, study tours or GST. That single sentence is the most useful thing to carry into a fee comparison.
At these colleges the registration fee sits inside the total. MS Ramaiah’s ₹50,000 registration plus ₹2,00,000 plus three instalments of ₹2,50,000 adds up to exactly ₹10,00,000, and ISBR’s ₹50,000 plus three instalments of ₹3,50,000 gives ₹11,00,000. Registration is not billed a second time.
| College | Registration or admission charge | Tuition instalments |
|---|---|---|
| MS Ramaiah Institute of Management | ₹50,000 | ₹2,00,000, then 3 × ₹2,50,000 |
| ISBR Business School | ₹50,000 | 3 × ₹3,50,000, last due 16 May 2027 |
| IIBS | ₹1,00,000 admission and processing | ₹1,00,000, ₹3,00,000, ₹3,50,000, ₹2,50,000 |
| XIME Bangalore | Not itemised | Year 1 ₹7,20,000 and year 2 ₹6,70,000, in three instalments each per the fee section (the FAQ on the same page says six) |
| Alliance School of Business | ₹25,000 processing and ₹25,000 course charge inside the total | ₹5,00,000, ₹5,25,000, ₹5,25,000 in the September 2026 file |
Alliance published two fee PDFs for the July 2027 batch with the same ₹16 lakh total and different splits. The earlier file, uploaded in February 2026, reads ₹5.5 lakh, ₹5 lakh and ₹5 lakh; Alliance’s fee PDF uploaded in September 2026 is the newer one, so use that when you plan cash flow. ISBR’s schedule is in its own PGDM Core fee document. IIBS is the least even schedule: ₹1 lakh, ₹1 lakh, ₹3 lakh, ₹3.5 lakh and ₹2.5 lakh, so later instalments are much heavier than the first two.
What does hostel add over two years?
Hostel is where cheap-looking tuition quietly stops being cheap. ISBR’s double-sharing room costs ₹1,50,000 a year with breakfast and ₹2,02,000 with all meals; a single room is ₹2,75,000 or ₹3,27,000. XIME quotes ₹12,000 to ₹16,000 a month for ten months. IIBS prices by campus and room type, from ₹1,02,000 a year for a triple at Kennedia to ₹2,40,000 for a single at Ozone Urbana.
| Option | Printed hostel cost per year | Two-year add-on (my arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|
| IIBS Kennedia, triple room | ₹1,02,000 | ₹2,04,000 |
| XIME Bangalore | ₹12,000 to ₹16,000 a month for 10 months | ₹2,40,000 to ₹3,20,000 |
| IIBS Ozone Urbana, twin room | ₹1,80,000 | ₹3,60,000 |
| ISBR, double room with all meals | ₹2,02,000 | ₹4,04,000 |
Run ISBR through once as a worked case. Tuition of ₹11,00,000 plus a double room with all meals for two years (₹4,04,000) lands near ₹15 lakh before GST, the ₹20,000 hostel deposit and ₹17,000 of one-time charges. That is a 37% jump over the headline number, and it is why I would never compare a day-scholar fee at one college with a residential fee at another.
A worked two-year budget for four options
Adding the printed pieces together shows how far a headline number sits from the real outlay. The sums below use only figures from each college’s own pages and exclude GST, travel, books and personal spending.
| Option | Tuition | Hostel for two years | Deposits and one-time charges | Total (my arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IIBS Prime, Kennedia triple room | ₹11,00,000 | ₹2,04,000 | ₹45,000 one-time, ₹25,000 caution (half refundable) | ₹13,74,000 |
| IIBS Prime, Ozone Urbana twin room | ₹11,00,000 | ₹3,60,000 | ₹45,000 and ₹25,000 | ₹15,30,000 |
| ISBR PGDM Core, double room with all meals | ₹11,00,000 | ₹4,04,000 | ₹17,000 one-time, ₹20,000 hostel deposit | ₹15,41,000 |
| XIME PGDM, hostel at ₹12,000 to ₹16,000 a month | ₹13,90,000 | ₹2,40,000 to ₹3,20,000 | ₹25,000 caution, ₹10,000 hostel deposit | ₹16,65,000 to ₹17,45,000 |
XIME’s page also lists a study tour at ₹1 lakh to ₹4 lakh on actuals, which is not in the XIME row. Two colleges with the same ₹11 lakh tuition, IIBS and ISBR, end up ₹1.7 lakh apart once the room is chosen, which is a bigger gap than most fee negotiations ever close.
5 lines to check on any fee PDF before paying
1. The batch name. Confirm the PDF is for your intake and not a previous one still hosted on the site.
2. The words “total payable”. If they are missing, add the instalments yourself and compare with the headline.
3. What sits outside the fee. Look for hostel, mess, study tours, certification fees and GST. ISBR and IIBS both print that taxes are extra.
4. Refund terms. Deposits are usually refundable and registration charges usually are not. IIBS says half of its caution deposit comes back.
5. Revision language. “Subject to change” appears on ISBR’s industry-integrated programme page. Ask whether year 2 is fixed at admission.

Government seat or management seat: the RVIM numbers
RV Institute of Management is the one Bangalore college whose fee circular I could read with both seat types side by side. The circular, dated 27 December 2025 and covering the 2026-28 MBA, prints a government-quota fee and a management-quota fee for each year.
| Item | Government quota (via KEA) | Management quota (Karnataka candidate) |
|---|---|---|
| Year 1 | ₹2,03,560: tuition ₹68,560, curriculum fee ₹1,35,000, plus a university approval fee collected by KEA | ₹6,25,000 (₹6,31,000 for non-Karnataka) |
| Year 2 | ₹1,86,250 as printed (the components sum to ₹1,86,750) | ₹6,04,000 |
| Two-year total | About ₹3.9 lakh, before KEA’s own fee | ₹12,29,000 |
The management seat costs about three times the government seat. The circular itself says KEA’s fee is charged separately as per government orders, so the true government-seat total is a little higher than ₹3.9 lakh. It also contains a small arithmetic slip in the year 2 total, which is one more reason to read primary documents rather than summaries. The original is on RVIM’s published MBA fee circular.
Seat sharing is not RVIM’s choice alone. CollegeDekho reported on 9 September 2026 that for Karnataka’s private unaided colleges the draft seat matrix gives 50% of seats to the government quota and 50% to the management quota; I could not open KEA’s own matrix, so verify the split on the Karnataka Examinations Authority site. A government seat is won by PGCET rank, and Careers360’s expected closing ranks for RVIM ran from 109 to 267 in round 1 of 2026 (updated 19 August 2026), which are unofficial estimates. The mechanics of PGCET counselling are in how the PGCET process runs, and which government MBA seats exist in Karnataka lists the colleges.
Management-quota seats exist across the state and the rules around them are widely misunderstood. how management quota works in Karnataka separates what the fee sheet shows from what the seat actually requires.
Fees against pay: which colleges ask for the fewest years of salary
Here is a number I have not seen on any ranking page. Divide the printed tuition by the average CTC the college itself reports for a recent batch, and you get the years of average gross pay needed to match the fee. It is crude, but it puts a ₹10 lakh college and a ₹22 lakh college on one scale.
| College | Tuition (₹ lakh) | Average CTC (₹ lakh) | Tuition divided by average CTC |
|---|---|---|---|
| IIM Bangalore | 26.0 | 35.35 (Careers360, 13 Oct 2026, third-party) | 0.74 |
| MS Ramaiah Institute of Management | 10.0 | 8.0 (MSRIM placement page, 2025 batch) | 1.25 |
| XIME Bangalore | 13.9 | 10.08 (XIME placements page, Class of 2026, all campuses) | 1.38 |
| ISBR Business School | 11.0 | 8.0 (ISBR placement PDF, PGDM 2023-25) | 1.38 |
| SIBM Bengaluru | 21.4 (my reconciliation of two third-party figures) | 14.32 (Campusutra, 2024-26, third-party) | 1.49 |
| NMIMS Bengaluru | 22.0 (Careers360, 3 Jul 2026, third-party) | 13.5 (NMIMS placement report, Class of 2024-26) | 1.63 |
Read the last column as a ranking device, not a payback period. Tuition excludes hostel and interest, CTC is pre-tax and includes variable pay, batches differ by a year or two, and an average covers only the students who were placed. Even so, the pattern is hard to miss: IIMB repays its fee in under a year of average pay, MS Ramaiah asks for 1.25 years, and the two ₹21 to ₹22 lakh private institutes ask for about 1.5 to 1.6. Alliance School of Business is missing because its only placement figure covers the whole university across two years, not the MBA.
Placement numbers deserve their own scepticism. Schools quote “100% placement” without defining the denominator, and I found no college that published eligible, registered and placed counts together. how to read a college placement record lists the questions to put to any placement cell, and which Bangalore MBAs repay their fees fastest takes a longer view of the same idea.
Fees you cannot confirm yet
Some of the best-known names in Bangalore do not print a fee on any page I could read. I list them here with the best third-party figure and its date, so you can see what is claimed without mistaking it for a published fee.
| College | What its own pages show | Third-party figure |
|---|---|---|
| Christ (Deemed to be University), MBA | The 2027 MBA admission page shows no fee; applications open 5 Sep 2026 and Session I closes 24 Jan 2027 | Careers360, 7 Apr 2025: ₹9.30 lakh for Karnataka candidates, ₹9.50 lakh for other states. One cycle old. |
| Jain University, CMS Business School | Official pages refer fee questions to the admissions office | Careers360, 29 Dec 2025: ₹13.3 lakh including a ₹30,000 deposit. The article’s text and table disagree on the yearly split. |
| NMIMS Bengaluru, MBA | The MBA page accepts NMAT scores only and shows no fee | Careers360, 3 Jul 2026: ₹22.00 lakh, general category |
| REVA University, MBA | No fee on the pages I could open | Collegedunia, 2026-27: ₹12 lakh, or ₹6 lakh a year |
| Bangalore University, MBA | No fee on the university pages I could read | Getmyuni quotes ₹61,140 in total; Collegedunia quotes ₹69,200 for 2026-27. The two do not agree. |
| SIBM Bengaluru, MBA | The official fee page was not readable by my tools | Collegedunia, 13 Oct 2025: ₹10.70 lakh a year in tuition. Totals quoted online range from ₹20.62 to ₹27.78 lakh. See the SIBM Bengaluru college page. |
The SIBM spread is worth a sentence. Careers360 prints four tuition instalments of ₹5,35,000, which is ₹21.40 lakh, and that is exactly twice Collegedunia’s ₹10.70 lakh a year. Add two years of hostel and mess at ₹2,99,300 a year plus ₹40,000 in refundable deposits and the total is ₹27,78,600, within ₹1,000 of the ₹27.78 lakh one aggregator shows. So the competing totals are most likely the same fee counted with and without extras. That is my reconciliation of third-party numbers, not SIBM’s statement, and it is why I treat none of them as final.
Which fee band fits your situation
1. Under ₹4 lakh: rank-driven government seats
This band exists, but you pay for it in preparation rather than money. A PGCET rank decides the seat, and the strongest colleges close their government-quota lists at very low ranks. If your score might land inside that range, sit PGCET even if you also apply elsewhere. The exam itself is described on the Karnataka PGCET exam page.
2. ₹6 to ₹12 lakh: university programmes and mid-tier PGDM
Most students end up here, and the quality gap inside the band is wider than the price gap. CMR, Dayananda Sagar and MS Ramaiah sit in it, with RVIM’s management seat just above it. Use the fee-to-pay table above and visit the placement cell before paying anything. Candidates without a strong CAT score can start with colleges that accept KMAT scores.
3. ₹13 to ₹16 lakh: premium private schools
XIME and Alliance sit here, and hostel pushes the real outlay higher: XIME’s ₹13.9 lakh plus ₹2.4 to ₹3.2 lakh of hostel is already ₹16.3 to ₹17.1 lakh. Spending this much only makes sense if the college can show a placement record for your specialisation, not the institute’s best batch. Think about how specialisations change pay and fees before you commit.
4. ₹21 lakh and above: IIM and top deemed schools
The question here is not whether the fee is affordable but whether the entrance route is realistic. For the IIM, the fees, cut-offs and scoring are covered in the IIM Bangalore admissions and fees guide. For a wider national comparison, see national MBA rankings and fee bands.
If you are still shortlisting, the full Bangalore MBA college directory and a ranked look at Bangalore’s top MBA colleges sit alongside this guide, and how the MBA degree itself works covers eligibility and structure. Karnataka-wide options are in MBA and BBA colleges across Karnataka. Working professionals weighing part-time routes can compare online MBA options for working professionals.
Our admissions desk handles admission support for Bangalore MBA colleges, working strictly within each college’s published criteria. Seat rules and fees at each college are set by the college, and no agency can change them.
Frequently asked questions
What is the fee for an MBA in Bangalore?
There is no single fee. On the pages I read on 14 October 2026, private business schools print full-course tuition from about ₹10 lakh at MS Ramaiah Institute of Management to ₹16 lakh at Alliance School of Business, IIM Bangalore prints ₹26 lakh, and a government-quota seat at RV Institute of Management comes to about ₹3.9 lakh before KEA’s fee.
Which MBA college in Bangalore has the lowest fee?
For classroom study, a government-quota seat through PGCET is the lowest, at about ₹3.9 lakh over two years at RV Institute of Management as per its circular dated 27 December 2025. The distance route is cheaper still: Karnataka State Open University’s prospectus for the 2025-26 January cycle lists ₹32,890 for year 1 and ₹32,120 for year 2, excluding exam fees.
Do the printed MBA fees include hostel?
No. At every college in this comparison the printed figure covers tuition and registration charges, while hostel, mess, deposits and GST are separate. ISBR’s double room alone costs ₹1.5 lakh to ₹2.02 lakh a year, as per its 2026 fee PDF.
Is a PGDM cheaper than an MBA in Bangalore?
Not as a rule. The PGDM programmes at MS Ramaiah, ISBR, IIBS and XIME print ₹10 lakh to ₹14 lakh, which sits between the university MBAs at CMR (about ₹6 to ₹7 lakh) and Alliance (₹16 lakh). Fees follow the institution rather than the name of the qualification.
Can fees change after I take admission?
Fee circulars are published per batch and tuition has risen from one batch to the next at institutes such as SIBM Bengaluru, where Collegedunia reported an academic fee of ₹10.70 lakh a year for 2026-28, up from ₹10.21 lakh. Ask each college whether the quoted fee is fixed for the two years or revised annually.
How much of the MBA fee is paid up front?
It varies by college. MS Ramaiah prints a ₹50,000 registration fee and then ₹2 lakh, ISBR prints ₹50,000 and then ₹3.5 lakh, and IIBS prints a ₹1 lakh admission and processing charge. Confirm the due dates of the first two payments in writing before you reserve a seat.
Your next step
Pick the two colleges you could actually get into, open their latest fee PDFs, and write one line for each: tuition, hostel for two years, taxes, deposits. Subtract nothing and round up. The college whose total still fits your budget after that line is the real shortlist.
