MBA Evening Colleges in Bangalore: What Is Confirmed

Written by L K Monu Borkala, Founder & Chief Strategist

MBA evening colleges in Bangalore with official evidence are few. Bengaluru City University’s 2022 notification offered 50 MBA (Evening) seats through the Karnataka Examinations Authority’s (KEA) PGCET, and Careers360 lists 60 part-time seats at Bangalore University’s Canara Bank School of Management Studies. I found no published evening class timings or fees for either.

The newest official evening-seat figure I could find for a Bangalore MBA is from February 2022. That gap is why this guide leans on aggregator pages in places, and it says so each time. This guide sets out what the two public universities actually published, why AICTE approvals no longer show evening as a separate intake, and how to check any college before you pay a fee for a programme that may not exist in the form advertised.

MBA evening colleges in Bangalore: the evidence

I checked university pages, AICTE approval documents and the 2026 PGCET seat-matrix coverage. In the sources I read, only two institutions show an evening or part-time MBA seat count.

Institution What is stated Source Still missing
Bengaluru City University (BCU) MBA (Evening), 50 seats, admission after KEA (PGCET), by degree merit and roster BCU admission notification dated 23 February 2022, academic year 2021-22 Eligibility, class timings, course fee, current seats
Bangalore University, Canara Bank School of Management Studies 180 full-time and 60 part-time MBA seats, selection by Karnataka PGCET score Careers360 admission page, updated 4 July 2026 (third-party) Timings, fee, experience rule
M S Ramaiah Institute of Management PGDM intake of 300; former Regular, Shift and Part Time modes combined into one intake AICTE approval report for 2026-27 Any evening-specific seats
Presidency College MBA through entrance test and state counselling, no part-time or evening mode shown Presidency’s MBA page Not applicable

BCU’s own prospectus lists its MBA as “Day & Evening” but gives no timings, eligibility, fee, seats or entrance rule on that page. The directory entries are on the Bengaluru City University college page and the Bangalore University MBA college page. The AICTE report for Ramaiah Institute of Management shows combined intakes, so it cannot isolate an evening batch.

Bar chart of MBA seat counts found: Canara Bank School full-time 180, part-time 60 and BCU evening 50
The BCU figure is from a 2022 notice and the Canara Bank figures are third-party, so none is a confirmed 2026 seat count.

On experience, the sources disagree. A Careers360 page for a Bangalore University part-time MBA of 24 months says applicants need two years of full-time supervisory experience in an organisation with ₹3 crore turnover and 50 employees. Its admission page for the Canara Bank School mentions no experience rule at all. I could not settle the conflict, and the university’s own homepage showed no management-department information when I checked.

3 reasons a Bangalore evening MBA is hard to verify

1. The seats sit inside PGCET. BCU’s notice offers evening seats after KEA’s PGCET, so you reach them through state counselling and not by applying to a private business school. The Karnataka PGCET exam page and the PGCET process guide cover that route.

2. Approvals no longer name evening. Ramaiah’s AICTE report says courses once run in Regular, First Shift, Second Shift and Part Time modes are now combined into a total intake, so an AICTE document cannot confirm that a college runs evening classes.

3. The sources are old. The BCU notice is for 2021-22, the newest official evening figure I found, while the 2026 PGCET seat-matrix coverage I could read lists no evening seats, though its table is incomplete.

Timeline of source dates for evening MBA evidence in Bangalore from the February 2022 BCU notice to September 2026

How a PGCET evening seat works, and what Dharwad shows

BCU’s notice states the procedure in one line: admission “is based on Eligibility Degree Merit and roaster system” after KEA (PGCET). The application fee was ₹500, or ₹250 for SC, ST, Category-I and transgender candidates of Karnataka domicile. Course fees were not printed in the notice. The notice’s dates are garbled in the copy I read, so I do not quote a calendar from it.

Four-step route from PGCET score and KEA counselling to a BCU or Bangalore University evening MBA seat

To see what a Karnataka university evening MBA can look like in its rules, Karnatak University’s Kousali Institute of Management Studies in Dharwad publishes one. Its 2024-25 syllabus says the programme is for working professionals, runs four semesters over two years, holds classes “in the evening and / or during weekends”, and admits through PGCET with 50% weight on the entrance score and 50% on qualifying-exam merit. Applicants must be employed, self-employed or in business, with a service certificate or an undertaking. That is Dharwad, not Bangalore, so it only shows the pattern: ask BCU and Bangalore University whether they apply the same employment condition.

MBA evening colleges in Bangalore with fee structure

People who search for mba evening colleges in bangalore with fee structure will not find an official evening fee, because none of the sources above prints one. What exists is shown below, with what it applies to.

Fee figure Amount Source Applies to evening?
BCU application fee ₹500 (₹250 for eligible categories) BCU notification, 2022 Yes, application only
Bangalore University MBA, year 1 plus year 2 tuition ₹34,850 plus ₹34,150, so ₹69,000 Collegedunia (third-party; the same page also shows ₹69,200) No, full-time course
Evening course fee at BCU or Bangalore University Not published None found Ask the university

The ₹69,000 figure is for the full-time course and carries a conflict in the same page, so it is a ceiling for orientation and not a quote. For private colleges, printed MBA fees at ten Bangalore colleges shows what full-time programmes charge, and government MBA colleges in Karnataka through PGCET lists the public-university seat pool. If the fee is the stumbling block, how education loans work for Karnataka students explains what a bank asks for.

Evening, weekend or online: which fits

Format Typical rule Bangalore evidence Where to read more
Evening State counselling seat, rules set by the university BCU 2022 notice, Canara Bank School third-party This page
Weekend Institute-run programme, experience and employer-distance rules IIMB, CHRIST, XIME have official pages weekend and part-time MBA options
Executive Five or more years of experience at the top end IIMB PGPEM and EPGP IIM Bangalore’s executive MBA fees
Online No classroom, UGC-DEB listing needed Jain, KSOU have pages online MBA options

Lists of evening mba colleges in bangalore that name private institutions rarely cite a notice, so ask any college on such a list for its approval document and the current batch. If you are choosing between formats, the full-time field is mapped in Bangalore’s top MBA colleges ranked and the full Bangalore MBA college directory. The MBA course overview explains the degree itself.

5 checks before you apply to an evening MBA

1. Ask for the current admission notification. It should say “evening” or “part-time”, give the seat count and name the academic year. A 2022 notice is not proof for 2026.

2. Confirm the route. If seats come through PGCET, you register with KEA first, and a college’s own enquiry form cannot give you a seat.

3. Get the timings in writing. No Bangalore source I read states clock timings for an evening batch.

4. Ask whether you must be employed. Dharwad’s evening MBA requires a service certificate or an undertaking, and Bangalore’s rule is unconfirmed.

5. Get the fee for your batch. No evening fee is published by the two public universities in the sources I read, so ask before you plan a budget.

Open questions to put to the universities

Six items remain open. BCU’s 2026 evening seat count is unknown. Bangalore University’s part-time MBA has no official page that I could read. The work-experience rule differs across third-party pages. No evening timings are published anywhere I looked. No evening-specific fee is published. The 2026 PGCET seat-matrix article I read was incomplete, so the absence of evening seats there is not proof.

Admission rules for state-counselling seats are explained in how MBA admission works in Karnataka, and seats outside that pool follow each college’s own published criteria, as set out in MBA admission support for Bangalore colleges. State counselling seats are filled by merit and roster.

Frequently asked questions

Which colleges offer an evening MBA in Bangalore?
Bengaluru City University’s 2022 notification lists MBA (Evening) with 50 seats through KEA PGCET, and Careers360 lists 60 part-time seats at Bangalore University’s Canara Bank School of Management Studies. Neither source gives timings or fees, so confirm the current year with the university.

What is the eligibility for an evening MBA in Bangalore?
Careers360 lists a bachelor’s degree of at least three years with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) for the Canara Bank School, and BCU’s notice states no eligibility. One third-party page adds two years of supervisory experience, which I could not verify. Ask the university what applies.

How much does an evening MBA cost in Bangalore?
No official evening fee is published in the sources I read. BCU charged a ₹500 application fee in 2022, and a third-party page shows about ₹69,000 over two years for Bangalore University’s full-time MBA, which is not an evening fee.

Is the PGCET compulsory for an evening MBA?
BCU’s notification offers MBA (Evening) seats after KEA PGCET, and Careers360 says the Canara Bank School selects by PGCET score. Private evening or executive programmes follow their own rules and may accept other scores.

Are evening MBA classes available at private colleges in Bangalore?
I found no private Bangalore college whose official page states evening MBA classes. AICTE’s 2026-27 report for Ramaiah Institute of Management combines its former part-time and shift modes into one intake, and Presidency’s page shows no evening mode.

What is the difference between an evening MBA and a weekend MBA?
An evening MBA at a public university is a seat offered after PGCET, with timings set by the university, while weekend programmes such as IIMB’s PGPEM or XIME’s working-professionals PGDM run on weekends under the institute’s own rules. Karnatak University’s evening MBA allows both, “in the evening and / or during weekends”.

What to ask the universities first

Write to the management departments of Bengaluru City University and Bangalore University and ask three things: the 2026-27 evening or part-time seat count, the class timings, and the fee. Keep the replies, and use them to decide between an evening seat and the weekend programmes.
