Two decades of Karnataka medical admissions — under one roof
CollegesInfo Admissions is the dedicated medical admission counselling division of OneCity Technologies Pvt Ltd — a Bangalore-based education technology company operating since 2004, incorporated as a Private Limited company in 2009 (CIN: U72100KA2009PTC048911). We built CollegesInfo.org, a database of 1,787+ verified Karnataka colleges, and have extended that knowledge into direct, personalised admission guidance.
Our counsellors have worked with families across Karnataka — Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysuru, Hubli, Hassan, Belagavi — and from UAE, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region, navigating NEET counselling, KEA allotment rounds, COMED-K, management quota and NRI quota processes. We do not charge students or parents any counselling fee at any stage.
We're transparent about what we can and can't do. We cannot guarantee a specific seat — admission depends on NEET score, category and KEA allotment. What we guarantee: honest, data-backed guidance from the first call to the admission letter, with no pressure and no hidden charges.

Karnataka has four distinct MBBS admission routes. Your score, domicile status and budget determine which one applies. Here is a clear breakdown based on KEA counselling data.
Based on KEA Karnataka counselling data 2026 (cetonline.karnataka.gov.in). Cutoffs vary annually and by category. Contact us for your specific NEET score and category. Full NEET cutoff data →
What is COMED-K?
COMED-K (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) is a separate Karnataka entrance examination for private medical and dental college admissions. It runs alongside KEA state counselling and uses its own rank list for management quota and private college seats.
NEET qualification is still mandatory even for COMED-K — you need both. Our counsellors guide you through KEA state counselling and COMED-K processes simultaneously, so you don't miss any admission window. Many students who focus only on KEA miss COMED-K deadlines entirely.
Ask About COMED-K →Domicile & Service Bond — what you must know
Karnataka domicile: State quota seats through KEA require a domicile certificate showing at least 7 years continuous residence or study in Karnataka. Non-Karnataka students can apply for open category, management quota and NRI quota seats.
Kannada-medium bonus: An additional 5% reservation applies for Kannada-medium school students — apply for this certificate if eligible. It can shift your allotment significantly in competitive rounds.
⚠ Service Bond (Government Colleges): MBBS seats in Karnataka government medical colleges carry a mandatory 1-year rural service bond post-graduation. Penalty for non-completion: ₹15–30 lakhs depending on the institution. Confirm exact terms with KEA before accepting a government seat allotment.

Karnataka medical admission questions — answered clearly
Based on current NMC regulations, KEA Karnataka counselling process and FRA Karnataka fee structures for 2026–27. Last verified: May 2026.
For Karnataka state quota MBBS through KEA counselling, the NEET cutoff for General category is typically 550–600 marks. For management quota seats in private medical colleges, the NMC minimum qualifying score is 200 marks (General) and 150 marks (SC/ST/OBC). Top deemed universities like Kasturba Medical College Manipal require 640+ even for management quota. Management quota MBBS fees range from ₹65 lakhs to ₹1.2 crore for the full 5.5-year course (as per FRA Karnataka-regulated fee structures, 2025–26). Verify current cutoffs at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.
COMED-K (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) conducts a separate entrance examination for private medical and dental college admissions in Karnataka. It runs alongside KEA state quota counselling and uses its own rank list for management quota seats in member colleges. NEET qualification is still mandatory alongside COMED-K — you need both. Our counsellors guide you through KEA and COMED-K processes simultaneously so you don't miss any window. Many students who apply only through KEA miss COMED-K deadlines entirely.
NEET is not required for BSc Nursing in Karnataka. Admission is through KCET (Karnataka CET) conducted by KEA. Eligibility is 10+2 with PCB and minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST). Some deemed universities — Manipal and Yenepoya — conduct their own entrance tests separately. For direct admission to private colleges, KCET is not required but fees are higher.
To claim Karnataka state quota MBBS seats through KEA, candidates must hold a valid Karnataka domicile certificate showing at least 7 years continuous residence or study in Karnataka. An additional 5% reservation is available for Kannada-medium school students — apply separately if eligible. Non-Karnataka students can apply for open category seats, management quota and NRI quota seats across Karnataka private and deemed medical colleges. We guide both Karnataka and non-Karnataka students.
BSc Nursing is a 4-year degree offering better career growth, higher salaries, and eligibility for PG (MSc Nursing). It also meets international registration requirements for nursing employment in the UK, Australia and Gulf countries. GNM is a 3-year diploma that allows faster entry into clinical nursing practice. If long-term career advancement — including international employment — is the goal, BSc Nursing is the stronger choice. For immediate clinical entry at lower cost, GNM works well.
Management quota seats are 15% of a private medical college's intake, filled outside KEA counselling. Process: (1) Clear NEET with NMC minimum score (200 marks General, 150 SC/ST/OBC); (2) Approach college directly or through a counsellor; (3) College issues a provisional admission offer; (4) Pay fees directly to the college — never to a consultant or middleman; (5) Receive admission order. Management quota MBBS fees range from ₹65L to ₹1.2Cr for the full 5.5-year course in Karnataka private colleges (FRA Karnataka regulated).

- Parent income certificate
- Karnataka study certificate (7-year school records) if claiming domicile

Top MBBS colleges in Mangalore: (1) Kasturba Medical College Mangalore (KMC) — deemed university under Manipal Academy, NAAC A++, management quota ~₹85L–₹1Cr; (2) Father Muller Medical College — RGUHS affiliated, Christian minority, ~₹65–75L; (3) Yenepoya Medical College — deemed university, Muslim minority, ~₹70–80L; (4) A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences (AJIMS) — RGUHS affiliated, ~₹60–75L; (5) K.S. Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) — deemed under NITTE University, ~₹70–85L. Note: KMC, Yenepoya and KSHEMA are deemed universities — MBBS degrees are not affiliated to RGUHS, which may affect Karnataka state government job eligibility.
Yes. MBBS seats in Karnataka government medical colleges carry a mandatory 1-year rural service bond post-graduation (after internship completion). The bond penalty for non-completion ranges from ₹15 lakhs to ₹30 lakhs depending on the institution and year of admission. This is a legally binding obligation — not an optional commitment. Confirm the exact bond amount and conditions with KEA Karnataka before accepting a government seat allotment at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.
For government quota MBBS through KEA, competitive scores of 550+ are typically required. For management quota in private colleges, the NMC minimum is 200 marks (General). Some private colleges accept near-minimum scores for management quota seats — but total fees can exceed ₹1 crore. Students with NEET below 350 should seriously consider BDS, BSc Nursing, BPT or B.Pharma — these are strong healthcare careers that don't require NEET (except BDS). We give you an honest assessment of your specific score without overpromising. Check your options on our NEET Predictor →
