Weekend MBA colleges in Bangalore that publish their own pages are IIM Bangalore (PGPEM), CHRIST (MBA Executive) and XIME (PGDM for Working Professionals, Saturday-focused). Published fees run from ₹20.11 lakh tuition at IIMB to ₹6.60 lakh at Christ, while XIME shares its fee after registration. Required experience runs from one year at XIME to six at IIMB.
One institution asks for six years of work experience, another asks for one, and a third requires your employer to sit within about 50 km of its campus. Those three rules, not the brand names, decide which weekend MBA you can actually join. This guide compares the Bangalore programmes whose own pages confirm weekend or part-time delivery, shows which fees are printed and which are missing, and separates what is verified from what only aggregators claim.
Which weekend MBA colleges in Bangalore publish proof?
I counted a programme only when the institution’s own page confirmed the weekend or part-time format. That leaves four with official pages. A fifth, Bangalore University’s part-time MBA, appears only on third-party sites and is covered separately below.
| Programme | Format stated | Experience | Entrance |
|---|---|---|---|
| IIM Bangalore PGPEM (MBA) | Two-year weekend programme, eight quarters | 6 years full-time as on 31 March 2027 | CAT, GMAT, GRE or IIMB Test |
| CHRIST (Deemed to be University) MBA (Executive) | Two years, weekends and other convenient days | 2 years while working in Bangalore, or 1 year plus a score | MAT, GMAT, GRE, CMAT, CAT, XAT or ATMA on the score route |
| XIME Bengaluru PGDM for Working Professionals | Two years, Saturday-focused classes | 1 year, employer within about 50 km | None mentioned on the page |
| Alliance Executive PGDM | 15 months, weekend format as marketed | 2 years for degree holders, 5 for diploma holders | Not found |
Sources: IIMB PGPEM admission page (16 June 2026), CHRIST’s 2026 MBA (Executive) brochure, XIME’s working-professionals page (metadata dated 15 June 2026) and Alliance’s Executive PGDM page, which still refers to a 2023 batch and may be stale. Class clock timings are not published by any of the four. The IIMB route has its own fee and deadline breakdown in IIM Bangalore’s executive MBA fees compared.
3 labels that mean different things
1. “Part-time” is fading from approvals. The AICTE approval report of Ramaiah Institute of Management for 2026-27 says courses once run in the Regular, First Shift, Second Shift and Part Time modes are now combined into a total intake. A college can still teach in the evening, but the approval text no longer shows evening or part-time as a separate intake.
2. “Executive” is a marketing word. IIMB’s PGPEM needs six years, CHRIST’s executive MBA accepts two, and Alliance’s executive PGDM asks for two. The word tells you nothing about the bar.
3. “Working professionals” is the label that maps to the AICTE rules. XIME uses it, and its page ties it to AICTE norms, including one seat per cohort reserved for a Central Government or PSU candidate.
Part time MBA in Bangalore: fees from ₹65,010 to ₹20 lakh
The published fees span a factor of about 30. Programmes at the low end are distance or online formats, so they are listed for completeness and not as like-for-like substitutes.
| Programme | Published fee | Source and date | Caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| IIMB PGPEM, tuition | ₹20,11,000 | IIMB expenses page, 2023-25 batch | No fee printed for 2027 |
| CHRIST MBA (Executive), Karnataka student, two years | ₹6,60,000 | 2026 brochure, batch unstated | Older course page shows ₹2,53,000 a year |
| Jain online MBA, two years | ₹1,96,000 | Jain online microsite, undated | Distance and online, not classroom |
| KSOU MBA (ODL), two years | ₹65,010 | KSOU prospectus, 2025-26 January cycle | Exam fees extra; DEB listing not verified |
| XIME WP-PGDM and Alliance Executive PGDM | Not published | XIME says “Shared after Registration” | Ask in writing |
KSOU’s figure needs context. Its prospectus prints ₹32,890 for year one and ₹32,120 for year two, which is ₹65,010, and the exam fees of ₹1,650 for each of semesters one to three, ₹1,900 for semester four and ₹200 for the project come to ₹7,050, so the all-in figure is ₹72,060, my arithmetic. The KSOU MBA prospectus quotes a UGC-DEB approval letter dated 16 June 2023 and says the MBA is recognised by AICTE. I could not open the DEB list to confirm the entry, so check the 2025-26 and 2026-27 lists at deb.ugc.ac.in before you pay.
Jain’s online MBA is listed at ₹98,000 a year with no entrance exam. Its microsite says UGC-entitled and AICTE-approved but gives no DEB letter number, and its admission line says applications “close on 16 October” without a year. For a closer look at the online format, online MBA options for working professionals goes through the trade-offs, and online versus regular master’s degrees in India explains how the two formats differ.
What AICTE says about working-professional programmes
AICTE’s own document trail is thin for management. The circular I could open, dated 24 August 2023 on AICTE’s working-professionals circular for B.E. and B.Tech, sets one year of experience, a 50 km limit, 30 supernumerary seats and evening or weekend delivery. It does not mention MBA or PGDM. The management rules reach us through a Careers360 news report of 22 January 2024, which gives 30 undergraduate and 60 postgraduate supernumerary seats, and a 75 km limit.
| Rule | AICTE circular, 24 August 2023 (B.E./B.Tech) | Careers360 news, 22 January 2024 (management) |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum experience | 1 year | 1 year full-time |
| Employer distance | 50 km | 75 km, earlier 50 km |
| Supernumerary seats | 30 | 30 UG and 60 PG |
| Class timing | Evenings or weekends | Not stated in the summary |
The 50 km against 75 km difference is a real conflict, and I could not retrieve AICTE’s working-professionals guidelines for other programmes to settle it. XIME’s page uses about 50 km, so use that until XIME says otherwise. The practical consequence is easy to miss: an AICTE-approved weekend PGDM screens applicants by where their employer sits. If you work in Mysuru or Hosur, a Bangalore weekend programme may simply be closed to you.
Part time MBA in Bangalore University: what is confirmed
This is the programme many people search for, and it is the least documented. Bangalore University’s homepage showed no management-department information when I checked. A Careers360 page lists a Bangalore University part-time MBA of 24 months and 4 semesters with 60 seats, and says it asks for two years of full-time supervisory experience in an organisation with at least ₹3 crore turnover and 50 employees. Careers360’s admission page for the Canara Bank School of Management Studies, updated 4 July 2026, shows 60 part-time seats beside 180 full-time ones, selection by Karnataka PGCET score, and mentions no experience rule.
Those two readings conflict on the experience rule, and neither gives timings or fees. The programme’s directory entry is on the Bangalore University MBA college page, and the Karnataka PGCET exam page covers the entrance route. Treat the experience rule as unverified and ask the university’s management department for the current admission notification. Evening-format options are covered in evening-format MBA options in Bangalore.
MBA for working professionals: how to choose
Work out your experience first, since it eliminates options faster than fees do.
5 filters to apply before you shortlist
1. Ask for the approval in writing. For a PGDM, that means the AICTE approval and the intake line for the working-professionals programme. For an MBA from a university, it means the affiliation or the degree-award basis.
2. Confirm your employer’s distance. XIME’s page says about 50 km. Measure it before you apply.
3. Get the fee for your intake, not last year’s. CHRIST’s two fee figures differ by 30%, and IIMB’s PGPEM tuition on its site belongs to the 2023-25 batch.
4. Ask for the weekly schedule. No Bangalore programme I read publishes clock timings, and a Saturday-focused week can still mean several hours of travel.
5. Match the entrance route to what you hold. A valid CAT score opens IIMB’s PGPEM and CHRIST’s score route, while XIME names no test. If you plan to borrow, how education loans work for Karnataka students explains the bank’s view.
| If you have | Start with | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| 1 year of experience, employer within 50 km | XIME WP-PGDM | Fee shared only after registration |
| 2 years, working in Bangalore | CHRIST MBA (Executive) | Conflicting fee figures |
| 6 or more years | IIMB PGPEM | Round 1 closes 22 October 2026 |
| Outside Bangalore or short on time | Online or distance MBA | UGC-DEB listing |
If you are still comparing formats, ranked list of Bangalore MBA colleges and the full Bangalore MBA college directory show the full-time alternatives, and printed MBA fees at ten Bangalore colleges gives their price range. The difference between the two degree types is explained on the PGDM course overview.
Gaps in the public record
Seven items remain open. Clock timings are published nowhere I looked. XIME and Alliance fees are unpublished. CHRIST’s brochure batch year is unstated. Alliance’s page may be out of date. Bangalore University’s part-time MBA has no official page I could read. The UGC-DEB entries for KSOU and Jain could not be checked. AICTE’s management working-professionals PDF could not be retrieved, so the 50 km and 75 km conflict stays open.
Seats outside the PGCET and institute-run routes follow each college’s published criteria, as described in MBA admission support for Bangalore colleges. For what an MBA leads to, jobs and salaries open to MBA graduates is a useful read.
Frequently asked questions
Which are the weekend MBA colleges in Bangalore?
Institutions whose own pages confirm a weekend format are IIM Bangalore (PGPEM), CHRIST (MBA Executive) and XIME (PGDM for Working Professionals), and Alliance markets an Executive PGDM that may be out of date. Confirm the current batch and fee with each before applying.
Is there a part time MBA in Bangalore University?
Third-party sites list one with 60 seats over 24 months, and Careers360 shows 60 part-time seats at the Canara Bank School of Management Studies, selected through Karnataka PGCET. I found no official page confirming timings, fees or the work-experience rule, so ask the university.
How much work experience is needed for a weekend MBA?
It varies by programme: one year at XIME, two years at CHRIST and Alliance, and six years for IIMB’s PGPEM as on 31 March 2027. CHRIST also has a route with one year of experience plus an entrance score.
Is a part-time MBA valid in India?
Validity depends on the approving body, not the schedule. XIME states AICTE approval, while CHRIST and IIMB award the degree themselves. For distance and online MBAs, ask for the UGC-DEB entry for the programme and year. I could not open the DEB list, so check it yourself.
Can I do a weekend MBA while working in another city?
Often not. XIME’s working-professionals page asks that your organisation sit within about 50 km of the campus, and AICTE’s circular for B.E. and B.Tech uses the same 50 km limit. A news report cites 75 km for management, so confirm with the college.
What does a distance MBA from KSOU cost?
KSOU’s 2025-26 January prospectus prints ₹32,890 for year one and ₹32,120 for year two, a total of ₹65,010, with exam fees extra. The prospectus quotes UGC-DEB approval, but the DEB list itself should be checked.
Start with your experience and distance
Count your full-time years and measure the distance from your office to each campus, then shortlist only the programmes you clear on both. Ask those colleges for the fee, weekly schedule and approval letter for your intake before you pay anything.
