B.Ed colleges in Bangalore number 45 on Careers360 and 27 on Collegedunia, and listed fees run from ₹6,040 to ₹2,44,000, a 40-fold spread. Collegedunia and CollegeDekho describe admission as merit-based with no entrance test, but portals disagree on dates. Confirm each college's fee and NCTE recognition.
B.Ed Colleges in Bangalore: How Many Are There?
It depends which page you open. Careers360's B.Ed list for Bangalore says "Showing 45 Colleges". Its wider education list says 48, and the extra names we could read include a speech and hearing institute and a home science college, neither a B.Ed provider by name. Collegedunia's B.Ed list says "Found 27 colleges". Careers360's separate list of education universities in Bangalore shows five: Christ University, RGUHS, Bangalore University, Azim Premji University and Bengaluru City University.
| List | Count shown | What is inside |
|---|---|---|
| Careers360, B.Ed colleges in Bangalore | 45 | Every college we could read is marked private; names use both "Bangalore" and "Bengaluru" |
| Careers360, education colleges in Bangalore | 48 | Largely the same names, plus a speech and hearing institute and one government home science college |
| Collegedunia, B.Ed colleges in Bangalore | 27 | Christ University and Bangalore University at the top, then colleges, and entries such as AJ Aviation Academy |
| Careers360, education universities | 5 | Christ (B.Ed), RGUHS (B.Ed), Bangalore University (M.Ed), Azim Premji (B.Sc B.Ed), Bengaluru City University (B.Ed) |
Some names look like the same college twice. Collegedunia lists both RR Group of Institutions and RR B.Ed College at ₹2,02,000, and Bangalore City College at ₹7,800 next to Bangalore City College of Education at ₹1,00,000. Whether those are one institution or two, the portals do not say. For the wider teacher-training picture, read B.Ed colleges across Karnataka, browse the full Karnataka college directory, or see the degree colleges in Bangalore page.
College Snapshots: Seats, University and Approval
Careers360's course pages give what the fee lists leave out: seats, affiliation and NCTE approval. Six Bangalore colleges show it plainly.
| College | Seats | University named on Careers360 | Fee on Collegedunia (₹) | Fee on Careers360 (₹) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MES Teachers College | 50 | Bengaluru Central University | 29,770 | 60,000 |
| BES College of Education | 50 | Bengaluru City University | 19,100 | 19,100 |
| M.S. Ramaiah College of Education | 100 | Bengaluru City University | Not listed | Not shown |
| Bangalore City College of Education | 100 | Bengaluru North University, Kolar | 1,00,000 | Not shown |
| Bangalore College of Education | 100 | Bangalore University | Not listed | Not shown |
| Al Ameen College of Education | 50 | Bangalore University | 1,16,300 | Not shown |
All six pages state NCTE approval and a 24-month full-time course. Three details need checking before you rely on them. Careers360 names Bengaluru North University, Kolar, for Bangalore City College of Education, while its other Bangalore colleges name Bangalore University or Bengaluru City University. Its MES Teachers College page says Bengaluru Central University, but its Bengaluru City University page lists MES among that university's colleges. And the MES page gives the eligibility as a pass in II PUC or 12th grade, which cannot be right for a course that follows a degree. Careers360's university page lists 15 B.Ed courses under Bengaluru City University, most with 100 seats. It names six colleges at 50 seats: BES, MES Teachers, Sanjay Gandhi, Anugraha, BAPU and Vivekananda. MES and Sanjay Gandhi are two of the five colleges at ₹29,770 on Collegedunia.
B.Ed Fees in Bangalore
Collegedunia lists a fee against every one of its 27 colleges, and the spread is the story. The lowest is ₹6,040 at Sri Sarvajna College of Education, the highest ₹2,44,000 at Christ University, which is 40 times as much. The median is ₹35,000. Fourteen of the 27 sit at or below that figure and nine are at ₹1,00,000 or more. Collegedunia labels the figures we could quote in full as total fees for the course.
| Listed fee (₹) | Colleges on Collegedunia |
|---|---|
| 6,040 to 12,000 | Sri Sarvajna College of Education; Bangalore City College; BES Group of Institutions |
| 18,895 to 20,630 | K.I.E.T College of Education; BES College of Education; Amrith Educational and Cultural Society; Amitha B.Ed. Teachers Training College; Diana College of Education |
| 29,770 (identical) | MES Teacher's College; Acharya College of Education; Vijaya Teachers College; BES Teachers Training Institute; Sanjay Gandhi College of Education |
| 35,000 to 59,540 | Goutham College; Bangalore University (50,000); New Horizon College of Education (59,540) |
| 88,000 to 1,16,300 | Sri Venkateshwara Educational Institution and Bangalore Group of Institutions (88,000 each); Bangalore City College of Education; AJ Aviation Academy; Shushruti Institute of Management Studies; Al-Ameen College of Education |
| 1,60,000 to 2,44,000 | Dhanwantari group; R.S. College of Management and Science; RR Group of Institutions and RR B.Ed College (2,02,000 each); Christ University |
Five colleges share exactly ₹29,770. Five separate fee decisions rarely land on the same figure, so ask each whether it is a fixed slab and whether it applies to every seat or only to some.
Where the sources contradict each other
| Item | What each source says |
|---|---|
| MES Teachers College fee | ₹29,770 (Collegedunia) against ₹60 K (Careers360) |
| Christ University B.Ed fee | ₹2,44,000 (Collegedunia) against ₹2.04 lakhs (Careers360) |
| BES College of Education fee | ₹19,100 (Collegedunia) and ₹19.10 K (Careers360): the one figure both agree on |
| Number of colleges | 45, 48 and 27 depending on the list |
3 Questions to Ask Before Paying a B.Ed Fee
1. Which seat does this fee cover? A quoted figure may belong to a government-quota seat and not to a management-quota one. Ask for both.
2. Is the college recognised? The National Council for Teacher Education publishes recognition orders on its official website. A B.Ed from an unrecognised college can be a problem when you apply for a teaching job, so check the order before you pay.
3. Which university is it affiliated to? The portals rarely say for Bangalore colleges. The affiliation decides your exam calendar and your degree certificate.
Best B.Ed Colleges in Bangalore: What the Data Supports
No portal publishes B.Ed placement figures or teacher eligibility test pass rates for Bangalore colleges, so any list of the best B.Ed colleges in Bangalore built on those numbers would be invented. What can be checked is NCTE approval, university, NAAC grade, seats, fee and reviews. Careers360's ratings look impressive, but each rests on one to four reviews.
| College | Established | University (Careers360) | NAAC as shown | Rating and reviews | B.Ed seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NMKRV College for Women | 1973 | Bangalore University | B++, CGPA 2.98, valid until 16 May 2027 | 4.6 out of 5, 2 reviews (its list shows 4.5) | Integrated BA B.Ed and B.Sc B.Ed, no seats shown |
| Bangalore City College | 2000 | Bangalore University | B, CGPA 2.37, valid until 28 February 2026 | 4.9 out of 5, 4 reviews | 100 |
| M.S. Ramaiah College of Education | 2004 | Bengaluru City University | Not shown | 5.0 out of 5, 1 review | 100 |
| Basaveshwara College of Education | 2005 | Bangalore University | Not shown | 4.8 out of 5, 1 review | 50 |
Read that table for what it does and does not say. NMKRV College for Women has the strongest accreditation record on the page, and its B.Ed is an integrated programme after 12th, not the two-year course that follows a degree. Bangalore City College's NAAC validity date has already passed, so ask for its current status. M.S. Ramaiah and Basaveshwara carry near-perfect ratings from a single review each. Bangalore University appears with a ₹50,000 B.Ed on Collegedunia, but Careers360's education universities page shows it against an M.Ed only, so ask the university which B.Ed seats it offers.
A defensible shortlist therefore starts with NCTE approval and university, then a written fee, then a NAAC grade that is still valid. Rank the colleges on those, not on a rating from one student.
B.Ed Admission in Bangalore for 2027
Collegedunia and CollegeDekho both say the two-year B.Ed in Karnataka has no entrance test. They describe admission as merit-based on the marks in your bachelor's or master's degree, run by the state school education department, which Collegedunia and Careers360 name as the Department of School Education and Literacy. A minimum of 50% is quoted. For reserved categories CollegeDekho says 45%, while Collegedunia and Careers360 describe a 5% reduction for SC, ST and disabled candidates, which works out the same for those groups. The application fee is ₹300, or ₹100 for SC, ST and Category-1 candidates, and disabled candidates are exempt.
Careers360's college pages give the eligibility in more detail: at least 50% aggregate in a bachelor's or master's degree in sciences, social sciences or humanities, 45% for SC and ST candidates, and 55% for engineering or technology graduates with a science and mathematics specialisation. A student with a BE degree should read that last line against the department's notification before applying.
Dates are where the pages part company.
| Item | What each source says |
|---|---|
| Application window | 3 October to 3 November 2025 for the last cycle (CollegeDekho); "September 2026, dates to be announced" (Careers360, article dated 3 September 2026); October to November, tentative (Collegedunia) |
| Seat allotment rounds | Four rounds in 2024-25 (Collegedunia); five allotment lists (CollegeDekho) |
| Official portal | The state's B.Ed application page we could open, on sts.karnataka.gov.in, showed only a 2024-25 B.Ed heading when we opened it |
That last row matters. The department's own pages did not open for us, and the state application portal displayed no 2026-27 notice when we opened it on 30 September 2026. So no aggregator date should be treated as final. Watch that portal and the department's notice for the 2027 cycle.
Which Degree Comes Before B.Ed
Careers360 says the B.Ed asks for a bachelor's or master's degree in humanities, social sciences or sciences, so a BA is one way in. The BA city guides compare colleges by fee and combination: government and private BA fees in Bangalore, BA colleges in Mysore, BA colleges in Mangalore, BA fees in Dharwad, BA colleges in Belagavi and BA colleges in Hubballi. The state overview of BA colleges across Karnataka covers the rest. Still choosing? Ask about admission assistance for Karnataka colleges.
