Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a 4.5-year professional degree (including 6 months internship) for becoming a licensed physiotherapist. Karnataka has 43+ physiotherapy colleges with fees from Rs 30,000 to Rs 2 lakh per year. The curriculum covers anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, orthopaedic physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation and sports medicine. BPT graduates can practise independently, work in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, sports medicine clinics and corporate wellness programmes. Starting salaries range from Rs 2.5-5 LPA in Karnataka. More patients now seek physiotherapy for sports injuries, post-surgical recovery and geriatric care — opening up new career paths in 2026-27. Many BPT graduates establish successful private clinics in Bangalore and other cities.
