About Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College
Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College opened its doors in 1949 in Udupi and has since grown into one of the highest-rated degree colleges on the Karnataka coast, carrying NAAC A+ accreditation — a distinction shared by very few aided colleges in the state.
Academic departments span arts, science, commerce and management. Undergraduate programmes include BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA and BSW. The postgraduate wing offers MA, MSc, MCom and MCA. Research centres in multiple departments enable PhD work under Mangalore University. The college is recognised under UGC 2(f) and 12(B), and its autonomous-status application signals the institution's academic ambition.
A 75-year heritage translates into deep alumni networks across banking, education, civil services and coastal Karnataka's cooperative sector. Hostels for men and women serve students arriving from Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga districts.
