Govt First Grade College Siruguppa

Siruguppa taluk's primary government degree college has been running since 1989, anchored to a five-acre campus in this agricultural town along the Tungabhadra canal network. Government First Grade College Siruguppa holds NAAC B accreditation with a 2.43 CGPA, placing it in the middle tier of accredited GFGCs in the Ballari belt. Around 884 students attend classes here, drawn from Siruguppa, Devasamudra, and surrounding farming villages.

The college is affiliated to Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University (VSKU), Bellary, and offers BA, BCom, BSc (PCM combination), and MCom. Eight faculty members cover the teaching load. The BSc programme's physics-chemistry-mathematics combination feeds students toward B.Ed and competitive exam preparation, while BCom graduates often continue into MCom or banking recruitment channels.

Siruguppa sits in the Tungabhadra command area — one of Ballari district's more irrigated zones — and the college reflects the town's semi-urban character. Students who might otherwise travel 60 km to Ballari city for a degree find a closer and more affordable option here. The institution participates in VSKU's centralised examination system and inter-collegiate sports tournaments, giving its students exposure beyond the taluk level.
