JSS Banashankari Arts Commerce and Science College

Part of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha network — one of Karnataka's largest educational trusts — this Dharwad college carries NAAC A accreditation and affiliation to Karnatak University. The college traces its lineage to a 1944 institution before being reorganised in its current form in 1973.

Three broad streams define the academic structure. Arts programmes cover Kannada, English, Hindi, History, Economics, Political Science and Sociology. Science offerings include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Statistics and Computer Science. Commerce and management round out the portfolio with BCom and BBA tracks. UGC recognition under 2(f) and 12(B) has been in place for decades.

Dharwad's twin-city relationship with Hubballi gives students access to both a university town's academic ecosystem and an industrial hub's employment pipeline, making the college a preferred choice across the Dharwad-Haveri-Gadag corridor.
