About Field Marshal KM Cariappa College
Named after India's first Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal KM Cariappa College was established in 1949 — just two years after independence — on a 33-acre campus in Madikeri, the hill-station headquarters of Kodagu district. It remains one of the oldest and most recognised colleges in the Western Ghats belt of Karnataka.
Arts, science and commerce streams anchor the academic portfolio. BA programmes span History, Economics, Political Science, Kannada, English and Hindi. BSc options cover Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Computer Science. BCom caters to the commerce stream. Select postgraduate courses are also offered.
Affiliated to the University of Mysore and recognised under UGC 2(f) and 12(B), the college holds NAAC B+ accreditation. Separate hostel blocks for men and women accommodate students travelling from Kodagu's dispersed taluks and neighbouring Mysuru and Hassan districts.
