SSK Basaveshwar College of Arts and Science

Basavakalyan — the town where the 12th-century social reformer Basaveshwara established his movement — is home to SSK Basaveshwar College of Arts and Science. Operating since 1967, the college sits on a 4-acre campus and serves the eastern reaches of Bidar district.

Undergraduate programmes include BA, BSc and BCom. Postgraduate options span MA in History and English, MSc in Mathematics and MCom. The library holds 35,000 physical volumes and access to roughly 97,000 e-books. NAAC B+ accreditation with a CGPA of 2.58 was awarded in the third cycle in October 2022, valid through 2027. Affiliation to Gulbarga University and UGC recognition underpin the academic framework.

Student capacity stands at 858, drawn primarily from Basavakalyan, Humnabad, Bhalki and surrounding taluks. A swimming pool on campus and sports facilities add to the infrastructure beyond the academic blocks.
