SJM College of Arts Science and Commerce

Sri Jagadguru Murugharajendra College — known widely as SJM College — occupies a 10-acre campus on Holalkere Road near Chandravalli in Chitradurga. NAAC A accreditation with a CGPA of 3.05 ranks it among the stronger degree colleges in the central Karnataka belt.

The college was established in 1969 and is affiliated to Davangere University, with UGC recognition under 2(f) and 12(B) in place since March 1971. BA, BSc, BCom, BBA and BCA programmes cover undergraduate demand. Postgraduate options include MA in History, Political Science and English, MSc in Mathematics and Chemistry, and MCom.

Chitradurga's fort-town geography and its position on NH 48 between Davangere and Tumakuru make the college accessible from multiple directions. Hostels for men and women serve students from Chitradurga, Holalkere, Hosadurga and Challakere taluks.
