About Pompei College
Pompei College sits at Aikala, a semi-rural locality near Kinnigoli on the outskirts of Mangaluru. Founded in 1981 by Rev Fr Bernard L D'Souza, the college was conceived to bring higher education closer to students in the surrounding villages who would otherwise travel to Mangaluru city.
Twenty-one programmes run across six streams. Undergraduate options include BA, BCom and BCA. The postgraduate wing offers MBA, MCA, MA, MCom, MSc and MPEd — an unusually wide spread for a college of this size. Affiliation sits with Mangalore University, and the college holds NAAC accreditation.
The rural campus setting keeps operating costs and consequently fees low compared to city-centre institutions. Students arrive from villages across Mangaluru, Bantwal and Moodbidri taluks. The college's motto — A Light Unto My Path — reflects its mission of accessible education.
