About Sri Gavisiddeshwara Arts Science and Commerce College
Sri Gavisiddeshwara Arts Science and Commerce College is the oldest private higher-education institution in Koppal district, founded in 1963 on a 26-acre campus. For over six decades it has been the primary degree college serving Koppal, Gangavathi, Kushtagi and Yelburga taluks.
BA, BSc and BCom undergraduate programmes form the academic core. The college recently transitioned its affiliation from Gulbarga University to the newly established Koppal University, reflecting the state's push to decentralise higher education across northern Karnataka. NAAC B++ accreditation and UGC recognition under 2(f) and 12(B) provide the institutional quality framework.
A men's hostel on campus accommodates students from rural parts of Koppal and neighbouring Raichur district. The library holds a dedicated section for competitive exam preparation — a feature that draws students preparing for KPSC and banking recruitment alongside their degree coursework.
