Sharnbasveshwar College of Science

Sharnbasveshwar College of Science has anchored science education in Kalaburagi since 1956, making it one of the earliest institutions dedicated to the sciences in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region. Affiliated to Gulbarga University and recognised under UGC 2(f) and 12(B), the college earned NAAC B++ accreditation across its assessment cycles.

The undergraduate wing covers BSc programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science and Electronics. Postgraduate options span MSc in select disciplines. Laboratories for each department are purpose-built for practical coursework aligned with the Gulbarga University syllabus framework.

Operating under the Sharnbasva group — which runs a broad campus network across Kalaburagi — the college draws students from surrounding districts including Bidar, Yadgir and Raichur. Hostel blocks serve outstation students. Admissions follow the university calendar each year.
