Manipal School of Architecture and Planning

Manipal School of Architecture and Planning, established in 1997, is a constituent school of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) — a deemed university with NAAC A++ accreditation, the highest institutional grade in India's university ranking system. The school offers B.Arch approved by the Council of Architecture. The Manipal campus in Udupi is architecturally distinctive in itself — purpose-built institutional buildings, landscaped open spaces, and a mixed-use campus environment that functions as a live learning environment for architecture students studying built form, human scale, and spatial design. The international student population at MAHE — students from over 50 countries study on the Manipal campus — creates a multicultural design studio environment where ideas about architecture and urbanism from different cultural contexts actively enrich studio work. Visiting faculty from architecture practices in India, the UK, and Southeast Asia participate in design reviews and workshops. BIM software, parametric modelling, and physical model-making are integrated into studio curriculum.
