NEET MDS 2026 is the NBEMS entrance for MDS seats: a computer-based test of 240 questions in 180 minutes for 960 marks, held on 2 May 2026. The fee was ₹3,500, or ₹2,500 for SC, ST and PwD. NBEMS does not run counselling; MCC and state authorities do.
A dentist's route into specialisation runs through one internship date. The 2026 bulletin required the 12-month rotatory internship to be completed by 31 May 2026, a month after the exam, so final-year interns had to check their own timelines before applying. After BDS, this single test decides entry to MDS seats, and the fee, pattern and eligibility below come straight from the NBEMS bulletin.

Counselling for MDS seats
Seats are split by the authority that counsels them. MCC handles the All India Quota (50%), deemed universities and central institutions such as DU, BHU and AMU. Karnataka's state quota is counselled by the state authorities, so watch KEA notices and read our MDS seat matrix notes for Karnataka.
