GATE 2027 is organised by IIT Madras and will be held on 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 February 2027 across 30 test papers. Regular registration closes on 5 October 2026, with a late-fee window to 12 October 2026. The fee is ₹2,000 per paper, or ₹1,000 for female, SC, ST and PwD candidates.

Timing matters this year. As of 2 October 2026 the regular GATE 2027 registration deadline was 5 October, extended from the 21 September date in the bulletin, and registering in the extended period adds ₹500 per paper. This matters most for final-year B.E. and B.Tech students planning M.E. and M.Tech admission, since GATE 2027 also added a new Robotics and Automation paper and revised its syllabi.
