Placements
Placement 2024: 550+ job offers, 358 dream offers, 456 internships, 235+ companies visiting campus, highest package Rs 42 LPA, average package Rs 10.35 LPA, median Rs 9 LPA. Top recruiters: Mercedes Benz, KPIT, L&T, Philips Innovation Labs, Lowe's, CISCO, Infosys, Accenture, Deloitte. The Rs 56 LPA highest (2024 batch) and Rs 9 LPA median reflect NIE's standing in the Mysuru engineering market — one of the strongest placement profiles for a non-Bangalore private college. The 35,000+ alumni network, including senior professionals at global companies, actively supports campus placement drives.
Location and Infrastructure
NIE Mysore operates across two campuses in Vidyaranyapura, Mysuru — a pleasant city known for its livability, heritage, and lower cost of living compared to Bangalore. The 25-acre campus includes well-equipped laboratories, a library with 70,000+ books, hostels for boys and girls, a sports complex, cafeteria, and medical facilities. Mysuru is 145 km from Bangalore with regular bus and rail connectivity. The city's relatively lower cost of living means hostel and food expenses are more affordable than equivalent Bangalore institutions, making NIE Mysore a cost-effective option despite the B.E. total fee of Rs 10.66L.
Key Considerations
NIE Mysore's combination of 78-year institutional heritage, NIRF 151-200 rank, The Week #18 nationally, 35,000+ alumni, Rs 9 LPA median salary, and Mercedes Benz / KPIT / Philips recruiting make it arguably the strongest non-Bangalore private engineering college in Karnataka. The KCET CSE cutoff of ~6,186 is demanding — comparable to DSCE and BMSCE — placing it firmly in the upper tier of Karnataka private engineering. For students who clear this cutoff and prefer Mysuru over Bangalore (lower living costs, smaller city, better quality of life), NIE is a compelling choice. Mechanical and Civil Engineering students benefit particularly from the NBA-accredited programmes and core industry recruitment from L&T, Mercedes Benz, and similar firms.
