About MVJ College of Engineering
MVJ College of Engineering has been in Whitefield since 1982 — before Whitefield became Bangalore's primary IT hub. The 15-acre campus at Channasandra is positioned within the ITPL and Bagmane Tech Park belt, giving students walkable access to hiring events, internship drives, and industry visits that colleges in suburban locations spend hours commuting to.
MVJCE holds VTU Autonomous status and NAAC A accreditation. Established under the Venkatesha Education Society, it's one of the more practically positioned autonomous VTU colleges for students targeting IT careers in Bangalore's East zone.

Whitefield Engineering Colleges — Comparison
| College | VTU Status | NAAC | CSE KCET Closing (GM ~2023) |
|---|---|---|---|
| CMRIT (Whitefield) | Non-autonomous | A+ | 5,000 – 12,000 |
| MVJCE | Autonomous | A | 8,000 – 18,000 |
CMRIT leads on NAAC grade; MVJCE leads on autonomous curriculum. Both offer genuine Whitefield IT corridor access.
Admission Process
Karnataka domicile students apply through KCET. Standard PCM eligibility: 45% in Class 12 (40% for SC/ST). MVJCE's autonomous status at the 8,000 – 18,000 GM range gives curriculum flexibility that non-autonomous Whitefield alternatives don't offer.
Fee Structure
| Category | Annual Tuition (Approx) |
|---|---|
| KCET / Government Quota | Rs. 1.1 lakh – 1.5 lakh per year |
| Management Quota | Rs. 2.5 lakh – 3.5 lakh per year |
Placements
MVJCE places students in IT service and product companies. Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Mphasis, and several Whitefield-based tech firms recruit here. The campus is close enough to ITPL and Bagmane that students can attend hiring drives without a cross-city commute. CSE and AIML see the strongest placement activity.
Who Should Apply
MVJCE suits students in the 8,000 – 20,000 GM range who want an autonomous VTU college in Whitefield. The autonomous curriculum and IT corridor location at this KCET range is strong value — comparable autonomous colleges in other parts of Bangalore have similar or tighter cutoffs without the Whitefield placement proximity.
Who Should Look Elsewhere
If your rank reaches CMRIT on government quota, CMRIT's NAAC A+ edges MVJCE's A. For students prioritising accreditation grade over curriculum autonomy, CMRIT is the Whitefield first choice. MVJCE is the better pick if autonomous curriculum and Whitefield access are both priorities at the 8,000 – 18,000 rank range.
