MES College of Commerce Sirsi

MES College of Commerce has served Sirsi and the wider Uttara Kannada region since 1972, making it one of the few standalone commerce-focused institutions in the Western Ghats belt of Karnataka. Affiliation to Karnatak University, Dharwad, and NAAC accreditation underpin its academic standing.

BCom remains the flagship programme. MCom at the postgraduate level and diploma courses in Banking and Finance, Practical Account Writing and CA-CPT preparation widen the academic scope. The college maintains a computer lab, commerce library and seminar hall. Faculty cover accounting, business law, economics, taxation and commercial correspondence.

Sirsi's economy — driven by arecanut trade, timber and eco-tourism — generates steady demand for trained accountants, auditors and banking staff. A boys' hostel on campus accommodates students arriving from Siddapur, Yellapur, Mundgod and Haliyal taluks deeper inside Uttara Kannada.
