About JSS Ayurveda Medical College Mysuru
JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital (JSSAMC) in Mysuru was established in 1996 under JSS Mahavidyapeetha (JSSMVP), which is part of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research — a NAAC A++ accredited university. The college is located at #41/E, Lalithadripura Road, Alanahalli, Mysuru, on a 43-acre green campus. It is affiliated to RGUHS Bangalore and approved by CCIM.
JSSAMC offers BAMS (5.5 years including 1-year internship) with an annual intake of 100 seats. PG programmes (MD Ayurveda) are offered in 10 specialisations: Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana (4 seats), Swasthavritta (6 seats), Shalyatantra (5 seats), Prasooti Tantra and Stree Roga (6 seats), Shalakya Tantra (6 seats), Roganidana Avum Vikruti Vignana (5 seats), Dravyaguna (4 seats), Panchakarma (5 seats), Kayachikitsa (6 seats), Kaumarabhritya (6 seats).
Admission to BAMS is through NEET UG merit. Applications are available both online and offline; application fee is ₹1,000. Academic fee is ₹2.5 Lakhs per year. PG admissions use AIAPGET scores through KEA centralised counselling.
The teaching hospital is NABH accredited — a designation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Health Care Providers. Students begin clinical training from 2nd year BAMS with OPD exposure. Final-year students handle patient case sheets under supervision. The hospital sees consistent patient inflow across Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, and Prasuti Tantra departments.
Campus facilities include a herbal garden, Wi-Fi enabled campus, smart classrooms, auditorium, seminar hall, and separate hostels for boys and girls. The college runs 100% audio-visualised and clinical case-based learning as its teaching method.
