Alva's Ayurveda Medical College, established in 1996 by Dr. Mohan Alva -- an Ayurvedic physician himself -- under the Alva's Education Foundation, is located at Sundari Ananda Alva Campus, Vidyagiri, Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada -- Karnataka 574227. The campus is set on 41 acres in Moodbidri, a small town in coastal Karnataka known as the "City of Basadis" (Jain temples), approximately 35 km from Mangalore city with road connectivity. The founding story is distinctive: Dr. Mohan Alva's background as a practising Ayurvedic physician who served rural populations directly shaped the college's clinical-first approach to Ayurveda education. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, recognised by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), New Delhi, and approved by the Ministry of AYUSH.

BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) intake: 100-122 seats per year. Starting intake was 60 seats; expanded to 100 following consistent academic results. All seats filled via KEA Karnataka AYUSH NEET counselling -- 85% state quota, 15% All India quota via national AYUSH counselling. Admission: NEET-UG qualification at 50th percentile (General), 40th percentile (SC/ST/OBC). Annual BAMS fee: approximately Rs 1.75-1.80 lakh/year; total 5.5 years approximately Rs 8.77 lakh. BAMS 5.5-year programme: 4.5 years academic + 1 year compulsory rotatory internship. PG: MD and MS Ayurveda across 19 specialisations (Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, Prasuti Tantra, Stree Roga, Dravyaguna, Rasashastra, and others) -- one of the broadest PG Ayurveda menus in coastal Karnataka.
