Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Ayurveda College Udupi

Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Kuthpady campus, is located in Udupi — 574118, Karnataka, on a 21-acre campus. The Udupi campus was established by the Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society in 2010, with the first academic batch admitted in 2015-16. It is affiliated to RGUHS Bangalore and recognised by CCIM, New Delhi, and the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.

The Department of AYUSH, Government of India, has designated SDM College of Ayurveda as a Centre of Excellence in Knowledge, Education, Drug Development and Research, and Clinical Research — a recognition that comes with funding to expand facilities. The Udupi campus offers 19 courses across four degree levels: BAMS (100 seats), MD Ayurveda in 13 specialisations, MS Ayurveda in 2 specialisations (Shalya Tantra and Prasuti and Striroga — 12 seats total), and PhD in 5 specialisations (Kayachikitsa, Prasootitantra and Streeroga, Dravyaguna, Shareera Rachana, and Roga Nidana).

The five-storey academic block houses all 14 teaching departments, each with its own museum, departmental library, demonstration room, and tutorial room. The teaching hospital provides both OPD and IPD services. The campus is 7.5 km from Udupi Railway Station and 4.3 km from Tavare Katte Bus Stand. Hostel charges: single occupancy ₹30,000/month; double sharing ₹24,000/month; triple sharing ₹22,000/month. Internship stipend: ₹2,000/month.

BAMS graduates from SDM Udupi go on to practise as Ayurvedic physicians, pursue MD/PhD in Ayurveda, work in pharmaceutical companies including SDM's own drug manufacturing division, and take government AYUSH medical officer posts in Karnataka and other states.
