MS Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies (Design)

M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS), formerly M.S. Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies, is a deemed-to-be university in Bengaluru, Karnataka, established in 1999 under the Gokula Education Foundation (founded 1962). The institution gained university status in 2013 and holds NAAC A++ accreditation. It ranked in the NIRF 2025 band of 101-150 among universities nationwide.

The Faculty of Art and Design, encompassing the Industrial Design and Fashion Design departments, offers B.Des programmes in Product Design, Interaction Design, and Fashion Design, B.Voc in Product Design Modelling, M.Des in Product Design, and PhD in Art and Design. The design programmes emphasise a studio-based, practice-driven pedagogy with access to prototyping workshops, fabrication studios, digital labs, and research facilities on the 80-acre campus in Peenya Industrial Area.

MSRUAS originally maintained an academic association with Coventry University, UK, and its programmes carry a strong emphasis on industry-ready skills. Over 300 companies recruit from the campus, with the highest package reaching Rs 52 LPA and an average of Rs 7 LPA across disciplines. Approximately 75% of graduating students receive placement offers, with 885 offers recorded in a recent placement cycle.

Beyond design, the university offers programmes across engineering, management, commerce, sciences, law, physiotherapy, and computer applications through its multiple faculties. An on-campus incubation facility supports 25-30 entrepreneurs per batch. The Gokula Education Foundation also operates M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, and other institutions, though each operates independently under its own governance structure.
