About KLE College of Nursing
KLE College of Nursing, established in 1997, is a constituent college of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER) — a deemed university based in Belagavi with NAAC A accreditation and a comprehensive health sciences ecosystem that includes KLES Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, a dental college, a pharmacy college, and a physiotherapy college. The college offers B.Sc Nursing (4 years), Post Basic B.Sc Nursing (2 years), and M.Sc Nursing across multiple specialisations. Clinical training is conducted at KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and Research Centre, Belagavi — a 1,300+ bed multi-speciality tertiary care hospital with active cardiac surgery, neurosciences, orthopaedics, oncology, neonatology, obstetrics, and organ transplant programmes. This hospital size and speciality breadth places KLE College of Nursing among the top five nursing colleges in Karnataka for clinical training quality — comparable to Manipal and JSS in the depth of patient exposure students receive. The deemed university structure means the college has more control over curriculum design than RGUHS-affiliated colleges, which often results in more responsive updates to nursing education standards. M.Sc Nursing specialisations are well-supported by the hospital's speciality departments. Gulf and domestic hospital placements are the primary outcomes for B.Sc Nursing graduates. The KLE campus in Belagavi has hostel facilities for female nursing students, a nursing skills lab, and library access within the broader university campus infrastructure. Belagavi's location near the Maharashtra border also means KLE nursing graduates have employment access in both Karnataka and Maharashtra's private hospital networks. Admission is through KAHER's own merit-based process — it does not go through standard RGUHS KEA counselling.
