About CMS Jain University
Centre for Management Studies (CMS), a constituent school of Jain (Deemed-to-be University), was established in 1991 and operates from the university campus at Jayanagar 9th Block, Bengaluru. CMS offers BBA and BCom programmes with multiple specialisation tracks, functioning within the larger Jain University system that received deemed university status from UGC in 2009.
The BBA programme provides eight specialisation options: Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, International Business, Aviation Management, Event Management, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Marketing. This range is broader than what most colleges affiliated to state universities offer, as deemed university status allows Jain to design curricula independently. BCom similarly offers specialisations in Professional Accounting, Finance and Taxation, and International Trade across three-year programmes.
CMS reports placement rates exceeding 95 percent for eligible graduating students, with recruiters including Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst and Young, Amazon, and Flipkart participating in annual campus drives. The placement cell organises pre-placement training covering aptitude tests, group discussions, and interview preparation from the fifth semester onward. Starting salary packages for BBA graduates typically range between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 8 lakh per annum depending on specialisation and recruiting company.
The Jayanagar campus houses dedicated management classrooms, a library with access to JSTOR and EBSCO databases, and facilities for student entrepreneurship initiatives. Jain University holds NAAC A grade accreditation and features in NIRF rankings among Indian universities. Admissions to CMS are through Jain University's own entrance process, typically involving an aptitude test followed by a personal interview, with applications opening each January for the academic year beginning in August.
